UC 19

DESCRIPTION + /

1916 wreck of German submarine which foundered after being depth-charged by HMS ARIEL some 11 miles SW of the Isles of Scilly. Constructed of steel in 1916, she was an engine-driven vessel, which had been responsible for the loss of the DHOON (account of wreck event, 1542583; site regarded as her possible remains 892265; site formerly regarded as the DHOON, 907454). Mines laid by UC-19 later claimed the FERNEBO (927611) and OLE BULL (account of wreck event, 927613; site of possible remains, 907476).
