G85

Remains of the 1917 wreck of a German destroyer sunk during a raid on British trawlers and drifters guarding the Dover Straits. The wreck is located 11.5 nautical miles east of South Foreland. The vessel was attacked and sunk by HMS BROKE and HMS SWIFT. The wreck is believed to be the remains of G85. The destroyer G42 was also sunk during the same raid.
